Altered Form || Sacramence Split - Standard Edition Cassette

from altered form

Features Clear- Teal cassette shells and a reversible J-Card design.

On this split release, Richmond’s Altered Form and Sacramence bring two different approaches to electronic music that should both satisfy the hordes of newfound synth enthusiasts and still appeal to longtime connoisseurs of horror and sci-fi scores.
Altered Form debuted with the cassette release of From Sleep on Anthems of The Undesirable last year. Their deconstructed and minimalist approach calls to mind the Berlin school, and on this new split channels Morricone and Carpenter’s work together on “The Thing.” Now with consecutive releases of this quality, Altered Form should be making waves and attracting more international attention.
On the other hand, here we have Sacramence continuing their evolution as a project. Beginning in 2013, then as a side project of Bottomfeeder, the earliest Sacramence material was informed by the likes of Bone Awl, Burzum, and Arizmenda. On their split with Earth Mesmerism, a greater dynamic was explored – hinting at the depths to come, and (I would vouch) Sacramence became fully realized on their full length cassette Lover’s Seek Dominance last year. Having now discarded their raw punk and and black metal roots for a sound clearly inspired by Throbbing Gristle, Death In June, and Coil - Sacramence have become a project altogether undefined by genre. Their tracks on this split vary from ambient, to danceable, and then haunting and cold.
Eight combined tracks of varying and nuanced electronics that will harken senses of wonder, dread, and isolation. Beautiful, mysterious, and cold; the tracks on this split cassette will provide the ideal backdrop for another bitter winter.
